Masada

This is a desert with endless contours and shapes from mountains, valleys and plateaus.  This is where the Jews held their last stand against the conquering Roman Empire.  It is a dramatic story of resistance, survival, and finally....the ultimate choice: slavery or death.

Riding cable cars to get to Masada.  (The body of water in the distance is the Dead Sea.)

Have a look at some of the ruins and surrounding vistas:
Emily is standing inside the remains of Herod's palace.

In the distance you see the Roman's encampment outside Masada.

Jay's dad walking around the cliff to where Herod's palace was built.

Water cisterns were very important to survival.  Emily is descending into one.

It is blistering hot.  You see the Dead Sea in the background.

Until next post...................stay healthy and happy!!
